Xontech Systems is heavily involved in educating future cyber security specialists. Within the partnership with the Technical University of Moldova, Xontech Systems has conducted a demo presentation and training on the OneSpan solution, which is part of the company’s portfolio, for students of the 2nd and 3rd year of the Faculty of Computer Informatics and Microelectronics, Information Security specialty.
We believe that in the information technology field, it is very important for students to see how things work in a practical way. That’s why one of the specialists of our team, Eugeniu Rejep, Network Infrastructure Engineer, presented for almost 2 hours the following technologies of OneSpan solution:
- Multi Factor Authentication – which provides the possibility to confirm logon, digitally sign documents and sign user’s financial transactions using multiple authentication factors.
- Digital signing – which involves complete digitalization of the document signing process. This technology has enabled many companies to make substantial cost savings by reducing the use of paper, printing, document storage.
- Virtual Onboarding – tool for realizing the customer onboarding process without the physical presence of the customer.
- Anti-Fraud solution – Intelligent Adaptive Authentication – a module that in real time monitors the transaction process and can change the trust level of these transactions based on several parameters.
- Mobile Application Shielding – solution for protecting mobile applications without the need to modify the source code.
We have chosen to make a presentation of OneSpan solution and its technologies, because it is widely used in the banking industry and by the largest global retailers. Even in the Republic of Moldova the biggest investments in information security are made by banks. OneSpan is a powerful solution that is sure to be increasingly common.
OneSpan has a wide portfolio of solutions, among which multifactor authentication and document signing are used in our country. In the next period other technologies of this solution will be implemented.
Our colleague, Eugen, at the end of the presentation also gave a live demonstration. The students installed the OneSpan Authentificator app for iOS. They went through the process of registering the authenticator on the server. Then they did authentication simulations using the second factor (OTP and Push Notifications).
The students showed interest and asked questions especially about how the cybersecurity market is developing in Moldova to be closer to what they are going to do after graduation.
